REFEREES
Kawana Touch referees are highly valued members of our association. They are crucial to the continuity and quality of our competitions and help provide a fair, safe and enjoyable experience for all.
The minimum age to become a referee is 12 years old. Junior referees will commence their time in our junior competition and will receive mentorship and support from our junior referee coordinator while they gain confidence.
Development courses are available for the entry level referee through to those looking to continually improve their refereeing skills and knowledge and progress to the next level.
Touch Football Australia Referee Pathway
TFA has a six-tier accreditation system. Becoming an accredited referee is an important step in ensuring you are equipped with the knowledge of the rules of the game and skills to manage and create a safe and enjoyable environment for all. It is also a great way for you to create goals to work towards while you stay fit to participate in the game.
Why referee with us?
Being a part of our affiliate means referees have the opportunity to tour with Kawana Touch to Junior and Senior State Cups, the National Touch League Championships and many other regional and state carnivals.
Refereeing has many known wellbeing benefits. Not only do referees contribute to improving the standard of a competition, they are part of a welcoming community, make life-long friendships and maintain fitness along the way. Importantly, all our referees are paid!
Our referee coordinators
Our referee coordinators are responsible for the management and coordination of our refereeing team including oversight of referee development.

Referee Registration
All Kawana Touch referees must be registered members of our association. This no-cost registration means you are formally recognised as part of our affiliate and helps Kawana Touch meet our constitutional requirements.
